Roermond is a city full of atmosphere. Once a Hanseatic city, today a bishop’s see, Roermond can look back on a long and rich history. The listed old town attracts visitors with its churches and cathedrals, cafés and terraces. The centre invites you to “winkelen” (= shopping), as does the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Centre. Roermond is uniquely situated on the lake district of the “Maasplassen”. They are a true Eldorado for active water sports enthusiasts.

Our cycling tour tip takes you along the Maas over the “green” border to Brüggen. Explore the historic town centre with Brüggen Castle, first mentioned in 1289. A visit to the “Mensch und Jagd” museum in the castle is also worthwhile. Your tour continues to Niederkrüchten-Elmpt. Here you can fortify yourself with coffee and cake before cycling back to Roermond through the cross-border nature park Maas-Schwalm-Nette.
